March 2013 – Questions to ponder

Following on from our time of worship focussing on ‘Encounters with God – Genuine?’, Louise has put together some questions for use to think about, and to help us explore our response more deeply.

The scriptures read during the service were Psalm 139: 1-16 and Luke 24: 13-31.  Why not read these pssages again now so that they are in your mind as you consider the questions:

  • How do we know when we are truly in God’s presence?
  • How does it feel?
  • We may truly desire to encounter God, but how do we know if our encounter is genuine?
  • What ‘masks’ do we wear?
  • How does a mask get in the way of us meeting with God?
  • What will give us the courage to drop our mask and present our true selves to God?

If you discover that you have a personal experience or encounter with God that you would like to share, please contact one of the leadership team at a Word and Spirit service – we’d love to hear from you!
