You are not alone – Reflection One

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. How often have you realized something only after the event, when there is time to stop and reflect on what has happened?

When I began to put together my thoughts for my 5 minute slot on “You are not alone” the impact of what God has done in South Bristol with Operation Christmas Child (Shoeboxes) hit me all over again. Not only was God in it at the very beginning by the response and support of people who encouraged me but I continue to see him working through other people in what Operation Christmas Child is doing.

It may be an opportunity to share the gospel in a practical way with a bereaved person, helping someone through a time of illness with words of encouragement, or knowing that a boy gave away his shoebox to another boy who didn’t have one. There is recognition that he not only walks alongside me, but I see where he walks alongside you. Isaiah 43:1 “I have called you and know you by name. You are mine.” Surely a sentence that we can draw comfort from when we think we are on our own. Take time to reflect when you have felt alone, vulnerable and look for where God was, for I am sure that you will find that:

You are not alone
God is with you
We are with you.
