Word and Spirit is a service of prayer and praise held at 6.30pm on the first Sunday of the month in a different church around the South Bristol Deanery, so Christians from the area can meet, worship, learn and eat together.
This year, after spending last year doing a spiritual biography of the Holy Spirit and his work, we will be thinking a bit more about the ‘Word’ of God.
From the beginning of time, God’s words to us have had great power: the power of creation and life, the power of rescue and redemption and the power to live a fully human life.
The services are contemporary in feel and Kunnagh Scott, one of the deanery lay ministers, is leading the services alongside Andy Schuman, the Deanery Partnership Priest. Speakers will be a mix of lay and ordained, the best speakers from the deanery and occasionally beyond. The services last around an hour and a quarter and include opportunities to receive prayer ministry. Individual services are led by a mix of lay and clergy ministers and feature a variety of speakers.
They are followed by refreshments and fellowship.
